 History of this Machine:

This machine was purchased in 2011 from an ad on EBay.  It was originally on the east coast of the US.
IWhen it arrived this machien has NO paint and virtually every surface was rusted.  If you look at the
photos in the restoration section you can see the process that we went through to bring this machine
back to life.

The Howe Model A was the first production model offered for sale by Elias Howe, the man credited with inventing the sewing machine.  This machine is actually the second version Mr Howe produced.  The early version had the stitch length adjustmewnt below the bed of the machine.  This made it particularily difficult to work with, so this version was produced with the adjustment on top.  It is interesting to note that Wheeler & Wilson did the same thing at about the same time with their model #8

 Unique things about this Machine:

Made by the Inventor of the sewing machine
Recovered from a completely rusted state
Loud operation
