  History of this Machine:
This machine was purchased in 2012 from an ad on Craigslist in the San Francisco bay area.
It was originally advertised with very grainy and blurry photos listing it as an "Old hand cranked Singer".
Once we saw the ceramic handle I knew it was NOT a Singer.

This particular machine is unique in that it uses the "Whittler Mechanism" to operate the shuttle.

This machine was made during the transitional period between makers using the older Transverse
mechanism (side to side) and the new Vibrating Mechanism (front to back).  This machine is set
up like the older style, but is operated in the newer style.  The shuttle moves side to side but in a
VERY short arc.
  Unique things about this Machine:

Made in Germany before WWI
Has Mother of Pearl inlay in the bed
Uses Whittler Mechanism
